NYMR welcomes pre-booked group visits for 2022 season

It’s time to start planning days out for 2022, as this year’s highly-anticipated season and daily services at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) have been confirmed to run from 4th April to 30th October.

With stunning scenery, rich cultural heritage, and of course, its iconic steam locomotives, the NYMR is a popular choice for group visitors.

After all, there’s no better way to explore the North of England and the beautiful North York Moors National Park than on board the UK’s most popular

heritage railway.

You and your group are about to embark on a journey you’ll never forget - so sit back, relax and take in some of the best views the UK has to offer, during your visit at the award-winning attraction.

Whatever the weather, groups can climb aboard a steam train and experience 24 miles of glorious scenery including heather moorlands, ancient market towns, steam era themed stations, bustling harbours, and even the filming location of the iconic Hogsmeade Station from Harry Potter and The

Philosopher’s Stone.

The NYMR is operating an end-to-end service between Pickering and Whitby which gives passengers the opportunity to travel along the full length of the line. The popular ‘Seaside Special’ service departs Pickering and is perfect for those wishing to visit the seaside town of Whitby.

The heritage railway also accommodates shorter journeys to the popular Yorkshire Village of Goathland, which was the home of the popular TV series Heartbeat.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a not-for-profit charitable trust run by more than 900 volunteers providing a high-quality, safe and authentic evocation of the steam age and offers groups of 20 or more a special discount of up to 25% off the standard fare price - which also includes reserved seating. What’s more, every group that travels on the railway helps preserve one of the world’sgreatest heritage railway experiences for generations to come.

Preferential rates for group bookings are available and must be pre-booked well in advance by calling 01751 477700 or by emailing grouptravel@nymr.co.uk
