Bamburgh Castle Confirms 2026 Christmas Extravaganza Following Continued Festive Success

Iconic Northumberland coastal fortress Bamburgh Castle is already planning its Christmas spectacular for 2026, reinforcing its position as one of the North East’s most established and successful festive visitor experiences.
Now entering its sixth year of collaboration with theatrical designer Charlotte Lloyd Webber and her event design team, Bamburgh Castle’s Christmas programme has become a firm favourite with group visitors and festive tour itineraries, attracting audiences from across the UK.
Recognised as one of England’s most spectacular coastal landmarks, the castle’s festive experience is also one of the largest indoor Christmas attractions in the North East.
Bamburgh Castle’s seasonal reputation was further strengthened in 2025, when its installation Treasured Tales featured on Channel 4’s A Very British Christmas — a three-part series celebrating extraordinary festive displays at some of the nation’s most remarkable historic properties.
Each year introduces a completely new theme, ensuring no two seasons are ever the same, as the castle’s state rooms are transformed into an immersive seasonal journey rich in storytelling, design and atmosphere.
Privately owned by the Armstrong family, Bamburgh Castle combines more than 1,400 years of history with a forward-thinking approach to visitor experience. Its Christmas programme reflects this balance, respecting heritage while delivering a high-impact festive attraction that resonates strongly with group visitors.
Early planning for the forthcoming season reflects continued demand from group travel organisers seeking reliable, high-quality Christmas attractions that offer both spectacle and substance.
Visitor Services Manager Karen Larkin said:
“Christmas at Bamburgh Castle is about delivering a distinctive festive experience that combines scale, atmosphere and heritage. Working closely with Charlotte Lloyd Webber and her team, we create a fully immersive, indoor Christmas journey that goes all out on festive detail.”
